Guidelines for Wiring Analytical Essays
An analytical essay attempts to show the significance of a piece of a literary work, by means of proving some kind of point. The point may deal with characterization, plot, style, theme, or other literary relations.
Before you begin to write your analytical essay, it is necessary for you to focus on what you are going to communicate to your audience about a particular literary work. When you find a focus, you should try to make some sort of point about a literary work in the essay. This point is the answer to a question that your teacher has appointed to you.
The answer to this point must be the key idea of your work. Also, this point is called a thesis statement. This is your opinion, but not a fact. The aim of your analytical essay is to prove your thesis, to convince your readers that your position is correct.
In the paragraphs that follow your introduction, called the main body, you should provide evidence to prove your standing. You have to take your evidence from the text by means of quotations. You should explain their significance and the way they concern your thesis.
Finally, you should write a final paragraph (a conclusion) that joins everything. The conclusion is like a mirror of the introduction. As your introductory part leads your readers into your thesis, the final paragraph leads them out. Typically, the arguments represented in your main body are summarized in this paragraph and the thesis is reformulated as proved.
