An analytical essay will try to explain the importance of a literary work, by justifying some kind of point, which may have to do with plot, characterization, theme, style or some other literary concerns.
Before starting to write an analytical essay, you should concentrate on what you want to communicate to your readers concerning the literary work. When you have a focal point, you must try to make some type of point concerning the literary work in the analytical essay of yours. The reply to your prompt should be the key idea of your work. It is named a thesis statement. This is your point of view, but not a fact. It is what you are going to spend your essay attempting to prove. Your work is to persuade your audience that your point of view is correct; you should prove your thesis statement is correct grounded upon evidence from the text.
You should keep in mind that the thesis statement should be clearly presented in your introduction. The thesis must be fairly wide. Avoid narrow statements of data, which can be simply proven or disproven. Typically, the thesis statement is a sentence, which finishes your introduction.
In the paragraphs following your introduction, called the main body, you should provide evidence to prove your position. Everything in the this paragraphy is to relate to the key point that you are attempting to make — your thesis.
Finally, you should write a conclusion that ties everything together. It is a mirror of the introduction. Just like your introduction leads your audience in to the thesis, your conclusion leads them out from it.
